Asphalt Seal coating

Autumn is well upon us, and winter isn’t far away, so here at Sibila’s Landscaping we wanted to remind everyone that there’s still time to sealcoat your driveway ahead of winter… but not much time.  We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately, like “Do I still have time to sealcoat?” or “How warm does it have to be for seal coating to set?” Plenty of people realize it may be time to apply a new coat to their asphalt, and we’ve been hearing a lot about it.  If it’s been more than two or three years since you last seal coated your asphalt driveway, it is time for a new coat before the weather turns too cold. However, sooner is definitely better than later in this case.

That said, there’s definitely still time to get in some crack-filling. It’s an important job that will, at least, ensure that further damage to your asphalt driveway is minimized during the spring thaw.  Don’t let your asphalt go unprotected this winter. Contact Sibila’s Landscaping for all your crack-filling, Asphalt patching and sealcoating needs. Be rest assured you asphalt will be protected from snow, ice and frost this winter.

Lawn Aeration

What is Lawn Aeration?
Lawn aeration plays a very important part in keeping your lawn healthy and looking its best!
All too often the beautiful and newly planted sod or seeded lawn areas can begin to struggle within a few years without this key cultural application. Lawns can become both anaerobic (lacking oxygen) and hydrophobic (inability to take in water) over time – lawn aeration can help manage these issues providing increased oxygen and water movement.

So when is a good time for planning your lawn aeration?
The best time to aerate lawns would be in Spring or Fall – avoid temperature extremes during this application. All lawns should be aerated once a year- though some lawns may require twice a year.

Call us if you would like to learn more about lawn aeration or if you would like to get a free estimate.

leaf-cleanup-removalThe Fall Season is here and that means cold weather and leaves…leaves everywhere!!!

Sibila’s Landscaping offers a complete leaf cleanup. We use backpack leaf blowers to blow the leaves away from your foundation and out of your flower beds. Then we operate a large blower that can blow huge amounts of leaves from the back of your property to the front at a very efficient pace. We will then use our debris vacuum which sucks them up and mulches them into little pieces. The mulched leaves are then loaded into the back of our truck. This process eliminates the use of plastic bags while drastically reducing the amount of time it takes to remove the leaves. Once all the leaves are cleaned up, We will go over the entire yard with our mowers to leave you with a very clean cut and pristine finish. Once we are all done with the entire process, we haul away all the leaves and dump them at our site into large piles where they will be recycle them into compost.

Gutter Cleaning

October and November are the most important months for fall gutter cleanings. With all the debris that’s been accumulating over the summer, having your gutters cleaned and your system inspected by Sibila’s on a regular schedule throughout the year should be at the top of your home maintenance to-do list.

Why Are Gutter Cleanings So Important?
You’re probably wondering why it’s so important to have your gutters cleaned.  After all, they’re just an accessory to your roof, right? Wrong. Here are just a few examples of what can happen when you leave your gutters unchecked:

1. Cracked foundations and leaky basements. When there is no more room for collected water in your clogged gutters, guess where it goes? That’s right, gravity takes over and your home could be seriously damaged

2. When wet debris piles up above the shingle line, moisture can become trapped inside and can do extensive harm

3. Moist debris attracts insects and rodents. It’s just what you don’t want, a mosquito breeding farm in your gutters. Insects and small animals are attracted to environments such as this and can make your life very unpleasant.

Your gutters are an integral part of your home. Unfortunately, they’re often overlooked. Making sure they’re working will help you avoid potentially costly home repairs down the road.

Why You Need a Professional?
Gutter cleaning’s no walk in the park. In fact, it can be downright dangerous.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 43% of fatal falls in the last decade have involved a ladder.
